Hi All,
This issue made me crazy, you can see the point cloud displayed in the pictures below.
In Pic 1 there is the entire view of the point cloud data set which displayed in Microstation, I want to go inside of the buildings to see more details as in Pic 2 which displayed in Pointools, but when I tried to zoom in to find the details, the result in Microstation is displayed as the scene in Pic 3.
Wish someone here can help me out. I tried the perspective mode in MS, but not well.

In MicroStation, a view's perspective can be changed form the "View Perspective" tool located at the top of each view.
As you zoom in on the point cloud, you will start to see individual points. To counter this, you can adjust the point cloud's "weight" to make it look opaque.

Pascal
Hi Pascal,
Thanks for your response. I have tried to use the view perspective tools to change the display mode, but that's still different with the switch mode as we use in Pointools. Even when I use the perspective tools in MS, the point cloud still displayed as the same as it is in orthographic mode.
Maybe you can try it, they are really different.
Hi,

Can you explain how they are different? It seems to me two different issue are discussed in parallel: How to set perspective view in MicroStation and how point clouds are displayed (color, density etc.). It would be nice to say what is fine and what not.
I have very limited experience with Pointools (and huge with MicroStation ;-), but I guess you will never receive 100% the same result, simply because they are two different products developed by different companies and based on different engines.
With regards,
Jan
