Edit mesh from ContextCapture i Microstation

Hi

I have a problem...when importing a mesh from ContextCapture to Microstation (.obj) and trying to edit it (deleting some of the triangles) the pattern map gets completely out of order.

When importing the mesh the pattern map unit is set to surface and I guess thats why it gets out of order when i edit the surface, but I dont really know.

I hope some of you can help me.

  • Hi Thomas,

When the pattern map is applied to the original mesh the image is positioned on each facet based on the UV coordinates of the mesh facets. Some modifications to the mesh alter the UV coordinates and corrupts the mapping of the pattern map.

I have had good results if I use the Delete Mesh Facet tool. This seems to leave the UV coordinates of the remaining facets intact.

    (Keyin facet modify deletefacet )

If you use a command like fence clip to delete a portion of the mesh the UV coordinates are lost and the mapping no longer works.
