I have a problem...when importing a mesh from ContextCapture to Microstation (.obj) and trying to edit it (deleting some of the triangles) the pattern map gets completely out of order.
When importing the mesh the pattern map unit is set to surface

RE: Edit mesh from ContextCapture i Microstation

Hi Vincent

Thanks a lot for the answer!
I will try this solution right away.

RE: Edit mesh from ContextCapture i Microstation

Hi Thomas,
The general workflow to edit OBJ and get correct mapping is to remap the textures in ContextCapture after OBJ update.
The workflow is:
# Generate OBJ via Option "3D Mesh for retouching"
# Edit the OBJ with MicroStation
# Go Back to ContextCapture, import the edited OBJ file
# Recompute model

Process is described in Help file, search for "retouching"
Thanks for the answer.
I tried your solution, and it does not seem to Work, as you can see from the video below:
https://youtu.be/yNuIPRznSqc
I am in V8i ss3, maybe it will work different if I upgrade?

RE: Edit mesh from ContextCapture i Microstation

Hi Thomas,

When the pattern map is applied to the original mesh the image is positioned on each facet based on the UV coordinates of the mesh facets. Some modifications to the mesh alter the UV coordinates and corrupts the mapping of the pattern map.

I have had good results if I use the Delete Mesh Facet tool. This seems to leave the UV coordinates of the remaining facets intact.

(Keyin facet modify deletefacet )

If you use a command like fence clip to delete a portion of the mesh the UV coordinates are lost and the mapping no longer works.

Regards,
Ron
