Rendering Issue about pointools connect edition.

See as the video above, when I use dynamic interference to check the clash detection, then render the video with the quality setting anti-aliased, this issue will happen. As the preview shows, the video result and the pictures exported by the rendering process are the same. That is some certain frames are small. I tried to render them again, the small frames will keep the status as it was.

If I use the quality setting Standard, the video will be great, but if I need high quality video, how should I do? By the way, If I use the Standard setting to make a video, how to make the viewport bigger than 1024*768?

Regards

  • HI Koalar,

Can you confirm which codec you are using? I am using the XVID codec and do not get the issue.

Using the Standard Render you will not be able to create videos with a resolution higher that your screen setting.

Try using the XVID codec. You can also choose the option to Render Images and then compile the images using a third party product such as Virtual Dub. See the link below for more information:

  • Hi Felix,

Thanks for your reply. I can't find XVID codec in the list. I used the Full Frames for default setting. And I also tried IYUV codec, the flashing frames still there.

What's the difference between these item? And which one you usually use for animation?

Not only this rendering issue, the dynamic interference seems can not display all of the clash results and the result point cloud could not see.

you can see the picture above, the model already clash with the point cloud as the red arrow indicated. but the result didn't appear. the next picture displayed the clash results, but even after I check the display setting for point cloud display, still not work.

  • A link to the XVID website (http://www.xvid.org) is in the document entitled Make Your movies into Smoothies. Please download and install XVID and it will appear in the list. Please read the document as it has many useful tips that will hep you to create better animations.

Using Dynamic Interference you should find that the clashes appear as you move through your animation. You can check this when previewing your animation. The will also display in your movie once it has been created.
  • Thanks for your help, I will try to use XVID.

For the Dynamic interference, I did that as you said, then get the results I mentioned above. I drag the bar to move through the animation to see where were the clashes located, but when drag to this part, it's obvious that the model clash with the points, then no result, no result in the video as well.

No matter how I try to switch on or off the "show result points" in the clash result dialog, the points result didn't appear in both manually drag or video file.

  • As a work around can you try the following: Save as, to create a new PTL and delete the clash test. Run the Dynamic Interference check and confirm if this now works.
