Multi-view synchro : perspective view synchronized with dynamic cross section

Dear all,

We intensively use Descartes to product CAD & BIM data onto pointcloud.

We appreciate the dynamic tools that enable to move a cross section in realtime along with top view.

However for a particular complex project we would like to use (add) an extra view : a perspective view that would be synchronized with the cross section.

We have already created a camera and defined the target view. Now we would to link or synchronize that perspective view with the cross section moving forward/backward.

First it appears that In Descartes/section tab it is not possible to link & synchronize 2 sections with the top view ?

Moreover perspective view is not handle ...?

We would you advice ?

Could you help ?

thanks for the tips,

regards,

  • Antoine,

In Section Tools you can select Create Section Wizard you can set up the Target Views and add Slave View to an existing section. You can then use the Section Manipulation Tools. It is recommended that you use the “Isometric” orientation and use settings in “Field of View” section to define the camera’s point of view. Then, it’s also possible to add perspective in the Isometric Slave View.

We cannot define a camera and use that view as is as a slave view.

We also cannot setup slave views with camera positions that remain static. Both the camera’s position and target move along when a section is manipulated.

You asked whether it’s “possible to link & synchronize 2 sections with the top view”. You can have as many active sections as you want, as long as their slave views use different “Target Views”.
