Hi Punam,

Sorry but Bentley Descartes doesn't have any supervised classification functionality like the one shown in the YouTube video.

I have raster image( Sattelite - Resourcesat -1 , Sensor - LISS 4 ) in Tiff format which is having 4 bands i.e. red, green, blue & near infrared (FCC image) & I want to prepare land use map of the image area by using bentley product , will you please suggest me which product from Bentley I have to use for this type work.

Hi Punam,

Bentley Descartes does not support raster classification through Land Use or Land Cover analysis.

I have filed an enhancement request for this functionality.

As for displaying multispectral rasters, only Erdas IMG rasters are supported at the moment, with the help of the following configuration variables:

MS_RASTER_IMG_CHANNELS

Sets the band number to use for Red, Green, Blue and Alpha channels when a file whose format is IMG is attached. The ‘0’ value can be set for the Alpha channel if none is required.

When this variable is defined, all attached Erdas IMG rasters will use the same band order. The default value is: MS_RASTER_IMG_CHANNELS 1 2 3 4.

MS_RASTER_IMG_STRETCH

When this variable is defined and set to ON, an automatic contrast stretch will be applied to all attached Erdas IMG rasters.
The default value is OFF.

I think the user is using ERDAS IMG images. I told the user to do File > Raster Manager > File > Raster Grid Attach Raster to attach their raster image. I have not received a response yet.

Could you describe a bit more what you want to do with raster data (i.e.: what kind of ERDAS Imagine's functionalities have you been for supervised classification)?
