Sensor Size undefined

Should I expect to hear back from tech support regarding sensor size parameters? I submitted several emails to tech support through ContextCapture on  March 29, 2016, no word back on whether the sensor size was added to the database or not.

How does this portion of the tech support process work? Can I access a database of supported devices? What kind of issues are to be expected from using a device with an unknown sensor size?

  • Hi Cliff,
To contact Technical Support please login to the Support Portal on the Bentley Website. Once there you can go to your Personal Portal where you will be able to create a Service Request. If you have just emailed support, then you may not get a response as the email will need to be routed to the correct department which can be difficult without service request number.
The main camera database is updated regularly (daily) by the support team. However, if you have a camera that is not listed you can add it to the user database. Detailed instructions on how to do this are in the user documentation. You can access this by selecting the Hep menu.
We recommend to specify sensor size and/or focal length for each photogroup. If these properties are missing, ContextCapture will assume that the 35 mm equivalent focal length equals to 50 mm. If the correct focal length value differs significantly, the aerotriangulation may fail. In such cases it is required to specify initial camera properties manually
  • I was under the impression we should use the process below to have a camera added to the database.
