Dear all,
We greatly appreciate the drape feature tool to match vector feature (ie lines, polylines) on a STM, but we would like to know how we could project only the vertex of the source line on the STM.
Indeed if the STM has plenty of vertex (fully detailed & rich) the drape lines will have additional vertex after process...
What we want is only the drape of the source line without modifying the line (eg a rectangle will be draped with 4 vertexes, no additional vertex).
Thanks for your help.
cheers.

Hi Antoine,
As Dan said this is not possible directly in the Drape function.
If you really one to dimish the number of points after a drape I would suggest that you apply Generalize Line on the resulting draped line. You will still lost the original vertices, but you will be able to decrease smartly the number of vertices.
Thanks,
Mathieu
Enhancement 571353 has been filed by me for request to "Project only the vertex of the source line on the STM." Please everyone file a ST and reference Enhancement 571353 so it gets more attention. As for now we are forced to use old Inroads tools which work as expected(except Defect 564845 for Drape Surface tool if had some lines outside surface they wrongly can get deleted) As a workaround I used this workflow: 1. Using Bentley Descartes create STM(Scalable Terrain Model) for example from LAS 2. Export Descartes STM to DGN file as TM(Terrain Model) 3. Using Terrain Model tools export TM from DGN file to old Inroads/PowerSurvey/PowerCivil DTM format 4. Load DTM in Bentley PowerCivil/Inroads and using Surface->Drape Surface (+Drape Vertices only) tool drape elements to surface
