Really Simple i drew a complex shape with lines.
I would now like to turn it into a solid shape.
How is this done?
(Really surprised there is not one tutorial on youtube for this)
I don't think what you have drawn will work. I just can't wrap my head around th way that the arcs from oposing legs cross in the middle of the table.. You can however create this table, by drawing the top, side and end views as shapes (once each for the side an enD, then make a copy). Determine the width of your lege, the use the solids tools to thicken each of the shapes and the top, then use the unite solids tool to group them all together.
Thank you very much for taking a look. i did as you said. i then created the curving surfaces on the underside and placed them in position to create the cross vault.
i also added a rib drawing a profile and then using the Swept Surface along Curves tool along the line of the cross vault curve.
Actually, I took a second look and found a potentially much simpler solution. Merely create a solid block, then create the curves on the front and side views, then use the Cut Solids by Curves tool - this would result in a vaulted underside, with the table (?) being one solid.
