Hello,
I see some videos on youtube of interesting capabilities of contextcapture and Microstation Connect edition but these fonctionnalities are not ready to use with the software. So why to make lot of show for something that is not possible to use at that time. ??? I see new tools and not possible to test them!! it is a little disappointing to see tools from a software you are not abble to use it !!!
Sometime they say fonction coming soon and sometime nothing. So if you buy the software now you will be not abble to do the same as in the videos ! and some videos were published 2 or 3 month ago !
I'm very desappointed to be not abble to use the tools showed !!
hope this will come very soon.
Regards,
Fabrice
Hi Fabrice,
Can you be more specific? What tools / videos are you referring to?
Hi Felix,
here is some link with some videos about tools which are not still in the software :
photos navigation

Photo planning application
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o4mw_0GQpU
cut edge for pointcloud : possible now or not ?

ContextCapture Mobile application

These tools look very interesting but not available.
Best Regards,
Hi Felix, yes i remember you tell me.
I will be happy to test the application. I would like to show this tools to team for demo and to explain this useful tool.
And can you explain how to do to have edge for pointcloud ?
Sorry and thank you,
I will organise the Technology Preview of the Photo navigation tool and have it sent to you.
For the point cloud edge I think you mean clipping? If so go to the View tab on the Ribbon and select Volume Clip. In the Define Clip Plane dialogue select one of the tools highlighted in the image below to clip your point cloud:
I know this tool, but I have no edge on the cuting plan like this :
I have try to change the display stil, but without result.
I see on the top "Microstation beta", so maybe still not yet available !
There are a few setting that have to be enabled:
Select your clipping plane and then select View Attributes (top left of view window)
In the clip volume settings enable "Cut" and select the button with the 3 dots to the right to open the display style dialogue
In the Display Style dialogue in the left hand column select "Cut"
On the right hand side under Override set the element colour to red (or your desired colour) and give it a lineweight.
Finally select your clipping plane and go to Element Properties
In the Geometry section go to Point Cloud and select your desired tolerance
The section Edge should now be highlighted.
