There are several options in pointools's layer:Layer from classification,Layer from selected classification.how to use it,and how to edit or crate the classifion for point cloud?
In Bentley Pointools If your converted POD file includes classification then you can use the Layer from classification option. This will create a new layer based on the classification in the point cloud and all points in the classification will be placed on that layer.
To create a a classified POD file. you will need to create a number of layers as required for your classification and then move the points to each layer. Once you have done this you can save your project and export to a new POD file using the Export option "layers as classes"

Thank you very much.
Hi Felix,
I use Trimble RealWorks to process and produce the point clouds (pod, las, e57, etc depending on end user requirements). I classify the point cloud in RW but when I export there's no classification layers. Is there some way to maintain the classification in pod files?
thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
If RW supports the export of classes in a LAS file then when you convert To POD the LAS class information is retained as long as you have selected the option to "Import classification" in the LAS import options. To view it would have to go to Layers and select layers from classification.
Thanks Felix, I'll try that and report back!
