The tool itself works great and is very handy for retouching but needs a bit more powerfull tools for selection.
I felt a bit let down when the "Shape" mode prompts you to input manually points and there is no option to pick an existing shape in the model.
I wanted to separate the asphalt form the rest of the terrain and I had a shape built based on the roadlines and if I could have used it it would have be a 1 click operation.
Aditionally the shape could have a heigh value so it acts like an extruded volume, similar to the slab. This would avoid picking points from elements such streetlights etc....
Hi Pablo,
I have entered enhancement Enhancement 821851:[DC] Allows Edit Classification tool to use existing dgn element in our backlog.
By the way the Edit Classification tool is also offering the slab mode.
HTH,
Mathieu
Yes teh slab is ok but it is usefull for something like a flat roof or a wall
Look, I exported the road contour (obtained using the follow line feature).
In cloud compare you can use a shape to segment or delete contents.
This is aerial lidar I want to merge the mobile scan data in so I trimmed road data to fit the more detailed mobile data. I'll use same trim shape to separate the road surface from the already classified vegetation/terrain in terrain there is terrain and road so this tool will allow me to segment to aseparate cloud.

This is the the what falls inside the shape, (using bit more dense lidar of same area).

Unlike in MS in CC you cant performs operations directly on an specific layer of the classification so after the "trim" I did move the vegetation data back to the outer mesh tha has the road area as a void.
