&lt;p&gt;You are right, seem the 3SM terrain created has not the terrain property. I&amp;#39;ll check with certification.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you are using a Bentley Civil product (e.g. : PowerInroads) a workaround would be to create a classify point cloud and import this point cloud.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Note that you might have to recreate another POD file with just the detected ground points.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To do so just attach the POD file created and use the Export function with the following parameters :&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;How is the best method for creating a terrain model from context capture? To capture the breaklines I am drawing them in Descartes to create the STM. Quite a long process! Ground extraction will work but the mesh is too dense to work with.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If your 3SM has been generated by ContextCapture it cannot be tile because ContextCapture generates 3D 3SM (containing terrain + objects).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What you can do is to first extract the terrain with Descartes&amp;#39; ground extraction tool then you will be able to use the Tile Terrain function on the newly generated 3SM.&lt;/p&gt;
