Hi All,
Having great and extremely frustrating time processing orthophotos inside Context Capture Editor.
Every time I try to produce one of the above to a good level of detail, 1cm resolution, I get "Operation cancelled by user" and then the program crashes. When running at a lower resolution it will produce sometimes but the resolution is so low it's pointless as a deliverable.
Has anyone found a way to successfully create high resolution orthophotos/orthoplanes using CCE, image size of apx 20,000 x 20,000 pixels?
Computer specs i9, 128gb RAM, 2 x 1080ti
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,Brendon
For larger images it should be created using BigTIFF format, Microstation can attach BigTIFF but seems not to generate it. TIFF has a limit of 2-4GB per image in uncompressed format. The limit would be 16k*16k pixels or less depending on bits per plane and band count. 20 000 is too much.
Hi Oto,
Still running into the 'Operation cancelled by user' with iTiff64. There is no BigTIFF format I can see in my drop down menu?Is this something I need to add myself? I've had no trouble producing orthophotos out of CC but really need to generate vertical orthophotos from CCE.
Yes unfortunately there is no BigTIFF but as others pointed out it may not be needed. We also run into issues when trying to produce larger images. Only hope that next version which is expected soon will fix this problem.
ECW would be recommended and if they using AutoCAD then there is free ECW plugin which solves all the nightmare of raster xrefs in AutoCAD - https://download.hexagongeospatial.com/search?lang=en&keyword=autocad&product=624e16d39d3f4d0fb06b30fed0f1e527
