I need to measure bridge clearances from a point cloud using Descartes CONNECT. I figured that the best way to do this, would be to create a surface on the road and measure vertically from the bridge to the road. Any ideas?

You could simply use the Descartes CONNECT measure tool and directly the point cloud by snapping on some points representing the road surface.
Only thing is that sometime snapping on the correct point of a point cloud can be difficult (i.e. : the point snapped on is totally not at the location you are thinking it is).
To minimize this problem Bentley Descartes is offering the Smart Snap tool and the Visual Explorer tool that facilitate the snapping operation.
