Hello,
I would understand exactly how to edit our reality meshes in ContextCapture Editor, avoiding the OBJ step but, at the same time, keep the highest mesh and texture quality in Editor.
We produce the reality meshes in ContextCapture Master CONNECT, starting from drone images. We know we can choose between production options, like mesh for review or mesh for retouch. The latter - as far as we know - has a quality lost.
Therefore... the best solution to save a fully editable mesh production from ContextCapture CONNECT, to be used in Editor, is to save a 3D Mesh for review (first option in CC CONNECT) in DGN file format, then import it as reality mesh in Editor?
Or, what's the best solution?
Thanks.
Are you trying to delete unwanted mesh?
If so, mesh for retouch works fine to me. It only edits the geometry of the part in CCE and then can be reimported back and updated in CC.
Yes Steve, we're trying to improve the final result, deleting unwanted mesh. Do you produce a dgn for retouch, or do you work with obj files?
Personally, I reckon using a dgn file makes it simpler than an OBJ
So, do you mean you produce a DGN in ContextCapture Master (as 3D Mesh, NOT "3D Mesh for retouch"), then you open it in Editor and drop the element?
Or, could you please let me know the workflow to keep the highest mesh resolution? Thanks.
Under the ''3D Mesh for retouch'' option it can produce either DGN or OBJ files, go for DGN.
It is not required to drop element using DGN in Editor. 'Fence' tool can be applied directly.
Not quite sure about the mesh resolution, it shouldn't be affected though.
Here is a link of the video and it covers the workflow.
