Point cloud low performance

I am an Autocad user who likes a lot of Microstation features.

Today I tried in a new very powerful computer MicroStation connect edition 12 with Descartes.

I loaded a 787 million point cloud ( 54 faro scans with medium quality), and the navigation speed and rendering quality were disappointing. Even with detail at 10%.

In Autocad, the same cloud is very smooth.

I think is not able to work with real scan data with Descartes.

Maybe I must try an alternative solution such as terrasolid, or topodot, but then the cost of the software will be prohibitive.

I thought that .pod was maybe the best format and that's why Bentley hat acquires pointools but it was nothing close to my expectations.

Is anyone actually working with Descartes with terrestrial laser scanners?
