I'm having trouble aligning a photo dataset to a LiDAR pointcloud that was taken at the same time.
Is there any better guides (more detailed than the 3 min example on youtube) or detailed settings i should be using? (suspect its spatial coord issue)
Does the alignment need photos that are in the same place as the lidar? or does it do a cloud (photo) to Cloud (lidar) alignment to move the photo cloud to the lidar?
I've tried various settings, including removing GPS coord from the photos (lidar doesnt have GPS) but i usually get the align to lidar option grayed out. the few attempts ive managed to get it to show up, it doesnt move the photo point cloud at all....?? I've tried constraining the model by using scale to make it the same scale as lidar. i was also attempted to try and add coordinates to the photos model to match the lidar, but think i went wrong somewhere as that failed too (and i couldn't find any guides / help on how to do it manually!!)
Any help is appreciated.
Yes it needs to be approximately in same place as LIDAR also use the latest CC version.
I couldnt find the guide for manual translation of an aerotriangulated model to a LiDAR scan. Is it essentially, find the same point in Lidar and take the coordinates from that and apply it as a control point to the aerotriangulation model from the photos?
Because there is no guide, Bentley forgot to add section regarding Point Clouds to Contextcapture online/offline Help.
In case they are not in one coordinate system you have to read fake control points from Point cloud and rerun the aerotriangulation.
