Hi
I want to animate a Large ContextCapture model in LumenRT. I've tried importing in CCEditor, and using the LumenRT export in CCEditor, but all the LODs are lost, so that only the lowest resolution level are displayed in LumerRT.Is there a tuto or method on how to do this export / import ?
Thanks
Philippe
OK I found the answer ; for the sake of other CC (COntextCapture) users who have the same problem, you must export the CC in ScalableMesh format (3sm) then import either in the terrain menu, or the add misc object menu.
Also avoid using real coordinates as it tends to flicker when viewed with large coordinate numbers.
So it does, as I can see from my first experiment.
How do you do this, when the model is georeferenced ? Can you use an ENU reference, with a properly chosen origin ?
yes ENU could help but Bentley plan to fix the flickering in next LumenRT version which should have been already released but still waiting. Regarding viewing 3SM works best in Acute3D/Contextcapture viewer then almost as good in Microstation and only then in LumenRT. From my point of view it would be critical that it works identically in all Bentley software.
We still stick to 3mx as it mostly works better and can be published straight to web but it is not supported and will not be supported in LumenRT.
I agree with you both about the viewer (CC viewer is by far the best) , and the formats. I've now counted 5 formats to be able to use the reality mesh : the old S3C (great with the scene composer), 3MX (for online model publishing with the CC web viewer), OBJ for retouching, Collada Lodtree for Opencities Planner, and now 3SM for LumenRT. Oh yes, DGN too with the microstation/CCeditor. And of course, same thing with the SRSs (not all are compatible with either the softwares or everyday life, specially here in France).
But then all viewers don(t have the same uses, and probably each of them has a different purpose. This too would be great if it were unified... maybe one day
