Webinar Photo acquisition

Hello all:

I recently viewed a webinar on photo acquisition using both aerial images (drones) and terrestrial photos.  It was done by Casey Bentley and he went through 3 complex projects showing how to best acquire images using drones and hand held cameras.  One of the projects was a detailed model of a building and had both exterior and interior views of the facility.  I think it was a recent SIG workshop that had been recorded.  I am trying to find this video again however an not having any success.  Can someone point me to where it is located.

Thanks in advance  Farouk Rohoman

  • Hello:
I am not exactly sure of what you are looking for.   The software uses all the principles of photogrammetry If you are familiar with these principles you should be able to work through processing you images.
I have be using the software for about 8 years and while it's not perfect it does a good job of creating 3D models, ortho-photos and point clouds.
I take the aerial photos for my projects using a conventional aircraft flying about 1000 feet above the ground;  I usually fly overlapping circles around the area of interest and use a Nikon D3200 camera with a 200mm lens.  This type of flight plan works well for smaller projects but I am looking to integrate photos taken on the ground with the aerial images and also increasing the size of my project area.
