A coworker has asked me if i could take a 3d scan of an object, put it into micrsotation and clean it up so he could then make a mold. Is this possible?
This may depend on the method you're using to perform a 3D scan of this object and how you are expecting to output this, ie. laser scanning / 3D printing. The ContextCapture and Pointools software may your best option so I have moved your post to this forum.

Depends on size of object and detail of 3D scan. Also which Microstation version is used? Microstation is not yet capable of large 3D mesh cleanup at least from my experience.
