I'm getting a new PC with a NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 w/6GB GDDR6 graphics card. I haven't seen any blogs or posts about this particular graphics card and I wanted to see if any one can confirm that it is fully compatible with ContextCapture Update 16. I appreciate the intel before I make this big purchase.
Thanks,
Joe
Nvidia is recommending quadro for Contextcapture - https://www.pny.com/File%20Library/Professional/NVIDIA%20Quadro%20RTX/Quadro-Sales-Tool-Workstation-Sales-Advisor-May2020.pdf
But actually Quadro is not needed and gaming cards provide more performance so are more cost effective. Overclocked Ti versions would not be recommended as cost more work hotter but performance increase is not so impressive. Also for Autocad or Microstation Quadro cards are recommended but I have seen that it may be counterproductive as Quadro still has same hardware as gaming cards so could have same issues.
Nvidia will ALWAYS recommend Quadro cards as they make about 200% more profit on those cards Vs. the consumer cards. You can do a LOT of searching and won't be able to find a REAL reason why you should use a Quadro over GeForce card if you even remotely look at dollar to performance value.
There is a one thing which renders QUADRO cards usefull...amount of memory...only Quadro 6000 and 8000 can provide you 24 or 48 Gb memory...but only handfull of users are able to fully utilize it and they pay the price....or simply use it in VM machine.
