As of Update 17, do we really need to build some custom python-app to manage job queue? If so, I would really expect Bentley to provide some tooling to at least do the basic job queue management (job priority etc.), considering this isn't exactly the cheapest piece of software around. If using python scripts to manage the job queue is really the only method, we are going to revert back to update 16 and stick with that. We are a surveying firm, and we don't have the inclination of starting to hire programmers to learn Bentley's SDK to do basic tasks.

Given the amount of feedback we have on this missing feature of Update 17, we will introduce Job Queue management capabilities directly in the user interface (and in the SDK) in Update 18. Current plan is to allow users to set a job priority at job submission, but also being able to manage job priority on the fly. In the meantime, in Update 17, priorities can be adjusted by working with several JobQueues, although I agree it is not optimal.
