In this model the seed points created do not touch the ground, they are above or below the surface of the model, they are usually groups of three points only aligned at several places of the model away from each other.
Next, there are the seed points created with the model visible or not.
I have deleted the job several times and imported from scratch the .3mx model to the editor, I have tried to reduce the analysis of the model from 0.9m to 4.00 m., but the same thing happens.
An other couple of images below again to show the problem.
The version ot the editor is shown below.
Thanks!
Anyway to report this issues you will nedd to try it in latest version.
But to create a terrain you can use workaround and ceate a 3SM terrain from scratch using point cloud.
Thank yoy for your answer Oto,
I am a non select user, I just have a perpetual license. So, I don't know If I can download a newer version of the program. I'll try it anyway.
But I,m afraid i don't understand the rest, what is workaround.
The only thing I have is the photos and the 3mx model made by them from Context Capture.
Should I run Context Capture to make a point cloud? And then what? I,m not very familiar with Editor. I just managed to learn how to extract seed points from a project. This is actually what I need, the seed points.
Do you suggest to run the model again?
I converted 3mx to dsm and tried extracting seed points , it took many hours to do it and finally crashed.
Mabe it is something wrong with the 3mx model, althouh it looks good.
Something else, by mistake I silenced this conversation, can I open the messares again?
Not sure why you need seed points. Seed points are used for ground extraction process so it can extract 3sm terrain from reality mesh.
Workaround is to produce point cloud from Contextcapture and use that to create new 3sm terrain in Contextcapture Editor. There is an option under reality model attachment dialog to do that.
Another option is to extract sparse automatic tie points as pointcloud and use that - https://communities.bentley.com/products/3d_imaging_and_point_cloud_software/f/contextcapture-descartes-pointools-forum/180665/python-api-contextcapture-automatic-tie-point-export
or this approach:

P.S.

You can download it and it will run not sure why Bentley allows to upgrade CONNECT editions for free as it shouldn't be so.
I use seed points for ground extraction.
Then most easy would be in this case export spare points and import them directly as Terrain. Unfortunately this requires at least OpenSite or OpenRoads as Contextcapture Editor still doesn't have Terrain tools. Three features are missing from Contextcapture Editor to be useful in real-life workflows - need Survey module, Terrain and Materials. Now it is not possible to create some needed output formats requiring additional softwae which is not reasonable and if nothing changes Contextcapture will be less competitive in the future.
Finaly after the upgrade to Update 16, the Context Capture Editor has resolved the problem. The same 3sm model inported to the newest version makes the extraction ok!Thank you Oto for your advice.
