It is better in sense that less issues with repeating patterns but regards to some tricky images it sometimes fails to orient photos.

ContextCapture Update 18 is supposed to be the best version of our AT engine so far. I am surprised that you are seeing a regression here.

Would it be possible to get your dataset for debugging ?

It is possible that is has something to do with settings, or matadata management.

Please let me know if you can share the dataset and I will provide you a upload link.

Just use legacy engine in aerotriangulation settings and you will be fine. The new "alternate engine" is more demanding in acquisition and sometimes fails.
