[Contextcapture U19] Turn off bumpy roads as in Pix4D

How to turn off bumpiness in road surfaces?

See comparision with Pix4D point cloud from same Nadir flight dataset. Pix4D doesn't create bump artifacts all is smooth even that there is less details.

I read in documentation:

a reconstruction constraint is used only if there is no other reliable data in the area: wherever reliable 3D information can be inferred from input photos, it will override the reconstruction constraint

So Contextcapture is aware that the data is not reliable but still tries to reconstruct bumps on road markings. Seems need an option to reconstruct 3D model only from reliable data without using constraints as none is needed in Pix4D. (Enhancement request 75969)

Recommended workaround: Use of the touchup tool, and remove/fill holes tool could help to resolve the matter.

This workflow unfortunately didn't convince end-user so they chose Pix4D.

I read changes in latest iTwinCapture Modeler 2023 (August 2023) version : 23.00.01.2693

Improve mesh quality by producing less holes

Improved LOD generation with preservation of thin parts

Does it fix also bumpy roads?

False expectations. Now in iTwin Modeler looks even worse

Slight improvement in iTwinCapture Modeler 2024.1 version: 24.1.0.560
- Fixed: flat surfaces are too noisy
