How to produce a mesh without unwanted particles (.3sm)?

Hi,

Why do my combined scans with photogrammetry have many unwanted particles? Note that I have it's particles only during a combined. Is there a way to prevent them? I would like the texture of the photogrammetry to take precedence over the scan. Is it possible that I chose the wrong settings?
Note, when I do the procedure with RealityCapture, I don't get these unwanted particles. The photos are taken with a DJI M300 and the scans with a FARO FOCUS S150.

Thanks in advance
Antoine

  • Honestly we haven't figured out how to combine point clouds(PC) with photogrammetry as the results are not what expected. Best we can get is very heavy and noisy model. Either need to use only point clouds or adjust photos to point clouds and then remove the point cloud before reconstruction. FARO is not mobile scanner so shouldn't be so noisy. How are the two datasets linked together using GCPs or adjusting photos to PC?

Other thing you could try is to do aeroriangulation and after aerotriangulation delete all AT tie points and leave only point cloud points then do a reconsruction. Not sure if it will work haven't tried.
