Hi AllI have calculated a 3D mesh from a drone capture. Now, in this mesh i would like to import a 3D model, i have drawn in 3DS max (Antenna) and afterwards export it to a 3MX file.Does anyone know, if this is possible?I have tried to do it through external retouch, but without any luck.
You can do that by adding OBJ in 3mx definition so it links it to 3MX.
Only issue it won't be possible to open in web.
See this - https://communities.bentley.com/products/3d_imaging_and_point_cloud_software/w/wiki/24605/merging-3mx-files
There is such notice but If I remember right it worked also with OBJ
Other data, such as OBJ meshes or labels attached to the 3D mesh, are not considered in the present implementation.
Thanks for your reply.Oh, sorry to hear it wont be an option, for the web aplication. Most of our customers find the web solution way more usable. It wont be an option to do some external retouching and add the model through microstation and resubmit production?
You should explore imodels that could be used to publish it to web - https://review.itwin.bentley.com/
This looks very promising and one of a kind technology as it actually allows to publish reality and 3D data together. It even allows to clip reality mesh with imodel so no need for retouch to clip uneeded part.
