I load a DGN file and start working in the file. The mouse icon starts spinning and the software give me a "Not Responding" message. Then I get a message box that states, "Descartes Stand/Alone has stopped working". This issue starting last Friday afternoon and continues this morning. What actions should I take to correct?

To rule out corrupted user preferences run restoredefaults command to reset user preferences(like clear cookies command in browsers)
