Hi guys,
When I produce cracks on annotations, I export 3D lines to DGN file to open on Microstation editor.
The problem is that the lines are not in the same place as the 3D mesh, even choosing the reference system.
Do anyone knows why?
Thanks, Paulo.
Works for me.Need more info.Lines are offset by Z or also horizontally? What format is 3D mesh? Does DGN has set elevation to ellipsoid or geoid under reference system settings?
Version of all softwares involved?
Hi Oto,
the version of CC 10.20.1.5562 and editor 10.17.01.54.
The DGN as the same reference system as 3D mesh. I have tried with 3mx and POD files. (this ones are in the correct place but the lines no)
In this image here the option that I have made.
That was what I suspected. 3mx is "evil" format. It moves DGN global origin(GO) so file do not longer align with others if attached as reality mesh. Better avoid attaching 3mx as mesh but attach it read-only using reference dialog with "coincident world" .
Create a new file and attach both as references. If you already opened cracks DGN directly and attached 3mx as reality mesh then it is already ruined.
Fixing GO is troublesome as the tools are outdated. - communities.bentley.com/.../how-to-change-the-global-origin-in-microstation-v8i-in-a-2d-file
Many thanks Oto. I'll try that!
