We are trying to generate solids in a dgn file to work in microestation from a POD file via importing the cloud and using the xyz coordinates tool to import the points before creating a mesh by point, we want to reduce the density of the points to say some 10%, as when trying to mesh the file crashes.
Is there a way in microestation to reduce the density of those points before converting to a mesh?
Unfortunately we don’t have Descartes at present.
You cannot permanently change the density of your Point Cloud file that you have attached in Point Clouds. You can change the density on the output file that you create when you do the Export. The export file that you create will reflect the density change that you made when you do the Export. This true for both XYZ and POD files that you create using the Export command.
