The Terrain modelling tools are missing from Contextcapture Editor. There is need to have full set of Terrain Modelling tools to work in real workflow. Now the editor is too limited for preparing data for design or volume calculations.
This workflow is broken in Editor - https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/180603/terrain-feature-spots/525795
Problem is that using Contextcapture Editor we are stuck of using only reality data and can't do comparison with existing data from previous surveys or do a annotation from terrain. When using ground extraction it creates 3SM which is based on TIN and not on points so even using Descartes and converting STM to TM points doesn't show up as source elements so only height annotation is possible by reading individual points as note dimensions which is not according to local standards. Having full terrain tools is a must for CCE.
Hi Oto,
The terrain modelling tools are currently only working with TerrainModel element as far as I know. Accordingly the tools are only available in Civil products. Eventually we want Civil products to consume 3SM terrain as well as TerrainModel element. At that points maybe having a subset of the TerrainModel related tools would make sense.
Note that there is already some Volume tool in ContextCapture that is directly working with 3SM data.
