Creating a POD file With Classifications
Background
A POD file will not contain classification information unless it has been included the source file. If that is the case there is an option on the Importer to include classification.
In Bentley Pointools it is possible to create your own classifications and add these to your POD file. This information can then be in other products e.g. Bentley Descartes:
To do this we must first create layers with names that represent each classification to be used.
Steps to Accomplish
From the Home Ribbon select Export and choose the following options
Select Point Cloud from the drop down list and click on OK
Save as file type POD, give your file a suitable name and select Save.
In the Export Options dialogue box, from the Export drop down list choose Layers as classes (single POD). Click on OK.
Your new POD will be created with the custom classification embedded.
