Bentley Descartes – Merge Command Does Not Work When Set To Vector Only

Problem

I want to use the Bentley Descartes Merge tool to convert my vector data to raster and when I select the Merge tool and set Element to Process to Vector Only it will not run and keeps prompting me to enter a Point.

Solution

In Raster Manager a raster image must be attached in order for the Merge command to work when Element to Process is set to Vector Only. If a raster image is attached in the design file then the Merge command will work when Element to Process is set to Vector Only.

To resolve the issue you can attach a raster image to the DGN file and do the Merge process again. You can also do Raster Manager > File > New and create a blank raster image. After the blank raster image has been created you will now be able to run the Merge command with Element to Process set to Vector Only.

Defect # 207085 has been filed for the issue where the Merge command requires a raster image be attached in Raster Manager when using the Merge command and selecting Vector Only.
