How to add a custom/local height grid in ContextCapture – Part 1 (Basic)

      Product(s): ContextCapture
      Version(s): N\A
      Environment: N\A
      Area: Spatial Reference System Database
      Subarea: N\A

In some cases, if you find that the height grid your coordinates refer to are not natively listed in ContextCapture, you can manually manage it following below procedure:

    • Close your ContextCapture Master and ContextCapture Engine instances
    • Download the grid of interest from below list:
      • Finland N2000 geoid – EPSG:1030 (Link)
      • Australia AHD height – EPSG:5711 (Link)
      • New-Zealand NZVD2016 – EPSG:7839 (Link)
      • Sweden RH2000 height – EPSG 5613 (Link)
      • Norway NN54 height – EPSG 5776 (Link)
      • Norway NN2000 height – EPSG:5941 (Link)
      • Swiss LN02 Height - EPSG: 5728 (Link)

    •  Download local heights description file

Option 1) Add to a specific Project

    1. In your Project Files folder create a new folder called SRSdata
    2. Paste the gtx file and vertcs.override.csv
    3. Close and restart your ContextCapture project
    4. When creating a new control point or importing images positions you will access the coordinate system selection window
    5. Select the X,Y coordinate system you want to use then select the Override vertical coordinate system… button
    6. Select the desired height geoid grid

Option2) Add to the ContextCapture Program making it available for all projects

    • Paste *.gtx and *.csv file in following directory:
      • On CC-Desktop: C:\Program Files\Bentley\ContextCapture\data\gdal
      • On CC-Center: C:\Program Files\Bentley\ContextCapture Center\data\gdal
      • On CC -Console: C:\Program Files\Bentley\ContextCapture Console\template\SRSdata (requires Console Update 8 or greater)

If you are a ContextCapture Center user, ensure that this operation is run on each workstation of your cluster

    • Open ContextCapture Master and run your project
    • Select your local height system
