Sometimes if an Nvidia Quadro range graphics card is installed, when selecting an area of the mesh to be deleted, the selected area is not highlighted. When the area has been selected, even though it's not highlighted, if you click the delete selected faces (trash bin) icon, the selected area is deleted.
There are two possible solutions to this issue:
1) Using the Nvidia Control Panel
This is a simple solution that can be used when the Nvidia Control Panel has Global Pre-sets:Start the Nvidia Control Panel (normally this is available when you right mouse click of the computer desktop).
Change Global settings to "3D App - Game Development"
Click Apply and close the application
Another option is to Change the Global settings to “3D App – Visual Simulation”
Click Apply and close the application.
2) Using NvidiaProfileInspector
If first solution does not work, try to install an external program to edit some "hidden" Nvidia settings that are not reachable by the Nvidia control panel.
Note: This is not an official Nvidia tool nor is it a Bentley tool. Therefore, we recommend caution as you will be using this at your own risk!
Install from:https://nvidiaprofileinspector.com/download-nvidia-profile-inspector/ Launch the program
i. Select the profile you want to edit (global or another one) ii. Activate "Show unknown Nvidia predefined settings" (the magnifier button at right)iii. Set OGL_SRV_APP_FORCE_OGL_GEFORCE to 1 (Enabled)iv. Press "Apply changes" v. Launch ContextCapture
