    User Interface Concepts and Navigation

    Viewport

The viewport is the central area of the application where Reality Data, Annotations and other graphic data are displayed.

    Tools and Tool Groups

Tools and tool groups are the buttons situated along the edge of the viewport. They are the entry points to the application's functionality and navigation. They cannot be relocated.

Note that tools and tool groups will fade out when the cursor is inactive for more than 3 seconds.

    Tool Settings

Tool Settings display the options of the active tool. The tool setting is a widget that will initially be docked at the top of the viewport.

You also have the option to drag and drop the tool setting so it is floating over the viewport.

    Widgets

Widgets are the dialogs that allow you to list the data that are available in the current Project and manage their display in the application's viewport. Initially, all widgets are docked to the application's right-hand panel. To open widgets, double-click the "Resize widget panel" icon.

Initially, the right-hand widget panel is "Pinned". To close a "Pinned" widget panel, double-click the "Resize widget panel" icon again.

To "Unpin" a widget panel, click the "Unpin widget panel" icon in the widget's upper-right corner. Once unpinned, the widget panel will close automatically when the cursor leaves the panel and clicks in the viewport. To reopen an "Unpinned" widget panel, simply place the cursor over the "Resize widget panel" icon.

You can customize the position of widgets with drag-and-drop. For example, widgets can be moved to the left-hand panel and even stacked in the same panel.

You also have the option to drag and drop widgets so it is floating over the viewport. Floating widgets can be docked again using the drag-and-drop or simply by clicking on the "Send to panel" icon in the widget's upper-right corner.
