    Point Cloud Display Settings

The Reality Data Widget is your gateway to list, manage visibility and control display settings of all the Reality Data that are associated to the current iTwin, and optimized for use in Powered by iTwin web applications. In this page, you will learn how to use display settings to enhance the display of point clouds.

    Accessing Point Cloud Display Settings

To access point cloud display settings:

    1. Open the Reality Data Widget
    2. In the list, locate the point cloud that is currently displayed
Tip: The following icon means that the listed reality data is a point cloud:
    3. Place your mouse cursor over the point cloud name and click the "..." at the end of the line
    4. Click the "Settings..." option.

    Point Cloud Display Settings

    Setting Name Description Default Value
    Locatable

Controls whether the point cloud can be located by tools (e.g. snapping on point cloud with measurement tools)

    • When set On, the point cloud is locatable
    • When set Off, the point cloud is not locatable
    On
    Transparency

Sets the degree of transparency to be applied to the point cloud (scale of 0 to 100)

    • When set to 0, the point cloud is fully opaque
    • When set to 100, the point cloud is fully transparent
    0
    Color Override

Controls the display color of the point cloud

    • When set On
      • The "Color Picker" and "Color Ratio" settings are available
      • The point cloud is displayed according to the selected color and its per-point RGB value
    • When set Off
      • The "Color Picker" and "Color Ratio" settings are not available
      • The point cloud is displayed according its per-point RGB values only
    Off
Color Picker Select a color for Color Override Yellow
    Color Ratio

Apply blending ratio between the selected color and the point cloud's per-point RGB value (scale of 0 to 1)

    • When set to 0, the point cloud is displayed according its per-point RGB values only
    • When set between 0 and 1, the point cloud display blends the selected color and its per-point RGB values
    • When set to 1, the point cloud is displayed in according to the selected color only
    0.5
    Point Shape

Select a shape to use in the rendering of the point cloud points

    • When Round is selected, points are rendered as a circle
    • When Square is selected, points are rendered as a square
    Round
    Point Size Factor

Apply a size factor to the points geometry, (scale of 0 to 100). It is particularly useful to improve display quality when gaps are visible between points.

    • When set to 0, smallest point size
    • When set to 100, biggest point size
    1
    Eye-Dome Lighting

Apply an image-based shading technique that improves depth perception. It is particularly useful for visualizing monochrome point clouds, but can also be useful for point clouds with color information.

    • When set On, Eye-Dome Lighting is enabled
    • When set Off, Eye-Dome Lighting is disabled
    Off
