This can happen when doing large (and Antialiased) renders. The process fails between 10 and 20 minutesafter the rendering begins.
Thisis a known memory issue. As it is a 32Bit application there is limit of about 3.5GB that can be used while Bentley Pointools is running. As long as this limit is not reached the issue will not occur fine
Workaround for the rendering memory issues:
Open the Settings from the Home tab in the Ribbon.
Go to Point Cloud->Advanced. Deselect the “Auto” Memory Usage checkbox and type a smallvalue i.e. 0.1 This will cut down the memory usage.
Normal point cloud viewing is not usable at this setting as everything will be streamed from diskrather than stored in memory, so users must switch back to “Auto” memory usage when not rendering.
