Microstation v8i intitial setup with different seed files (windows 7)

I am setting up Microstation v8i for the 1st time on my pc.

we are a contract service that does work for more than one client.

each client has there own seed file that we need to use.

how do i set up a workspcae and specify a  seed file to use with that workspace.

One client only gave us cel libraries and a seed file, a different client gave us more detailed with a config file.

i'm a little rusty on this whole setup thing.

also i need Des Cartes to run as well.

    You could set up a Project workspace for each client, and set the variables in the client specific Project Configuration file (*.pcf) to point to the individual client standards (seed files, cells etc ).

    For example set the following vars in the individual client pcf files.

    MS_SEEDFILES - Search Path for Seed FIles
    MS_DESIGNSEED - Default seed file for creating design files
    MS_CELL - Search Path for cell libraries

    Workspace configuration is a big topic, but MicroStation does deliver a couple of examples which you can refer to for reference to get you started. These can be accessed before opening a file by changing the workspace ( Bottom right hand corner ) to User:examples and Project:xxxxxx , here you will also see the New option allowing you to create a new project ). The associated project files including *.pcf can be found here by default

    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries)\WorkSpace\Projects\Examples
