Workset Templates

With the Connect Edition, how do customize the directory structure that is created when I create a new Workset? I can't find any help on this. With V8i, we have several project template structures setup that we select when creating a new project base on the type of job...Primarily, some complex structures for complex projects and simple structures for simple jobs.

just an update on this. Currently you cannot do what you want with the directory structure. You would have to manually build the workspace or workset rather than use the interface and the configuration…

I have seen these variables...What about folders outside of the Standards folder...and what about content? what we need is what V8i has and creates a copy of the workset folders and its content. If this is not available, I have no choice but to manually do this...which is a step backwards going to Connect.

sooo you want the folders that get created under the standards folder where then ? these are put there because these would be a standard used for this workset.

When a Workset is created, you get 3 root folders by default: dgn,out & Standards. What if I want an "in" folder added...Take the delivered workset for example "MetroStation"...it's dgn folder has sub-foldwers such as: 3Dmodel, Acute3DSamples, etc... I need to know how to pre-populate the newly created workset with sub-folders (including files) not only under the "dgn" but others.

Pre-CONNECT when you created a new project thru the MicroStation manager did it create "files" ? or just folders ? I just tested SS3 out of the box and it only created folders....and a *.PCF

I see you have AECOsim listed in your title - and I believe you may be looking for the functionality that is in this product when creating a project.

Yes I only run AECOsim, and it is based on SS6...It has the option of creating the directory structure only from the project template you select or copy the content as well which is the option I'm looking for.
