Impossible to connect a Main task to a task in connect edition 4. i'm using a rather large taskbar filled with settings for architecture design for me and our customers.
use of Ribbon is not an option since it is slow and not productive so we want to continue using tasks. There is the possibility to create main tasks in connect but they cannot be linked to any active task. Workflows can be created but cannot be linked to a taks.

If you are talking about Main Tasks category in your image, that is designed for your Main Tasks area which is located on top of your Tasks. So, you don't have to link to your Tasks area. You could also use key-in: ribbon popupmaintask main for your convenience. Here enclosed an image for reference.
