I have setup our network workspace to include UI files as it allows me to launch a session using a users UI if they need my help or are having issues. I also make every user create a UCF file and have maintained the default UI folder and dgnlib as a place to insert "company" interface items. I've known about the subject variable and have considered making use of it so a user cannot accidentally modigy the default UI files.
However, with the advent of GUIDGNLIB variables, I wonder if this variable is really a holdover from an earlier version. I've even moved some dgnlib's into the paths of the system GUIDGNLIB variables, as this removes them from the Files menu of the customize dialog box.
So has anyone ever really used _USTN_UISTANDARDS and if so, are you still using it? Is there any good write-up explaining any and all of this either?
As far as I can see this just related to the use of pre-DGNLIB ustn.M01 files. While I can't immediately find a reference to it being deprecated there is no recent information either. GUIDGNLIB variables are the ones to use.
The CONNECT Edition configuration is designed to make the distribution and control of company or department ui and resources easier to manage.
