We are trying to optimize our workflow and therefore want to introduce workspaces (one for each client), worksets (one for each project) and accordingly created seed files. We use Microstation Connect 6 and Powerdraft Connect 5. We set up a few workspaces on our network drive (from one machine) and now I have the following questions:
a) how can all my collagues access these workspaces? They don't show automatically and won't even show after opening a file attached to an existing workspace on a machine other than the one it was created on.
b) is there a way for them to automatically access newly created workspaces?
c) is there an option to store the files that were created in the workspace root directory in a "central" folder in the workspace?
Is this structure any good at all for our purpose? We have several clients with very strict and different design requirements for their drawings.
This sounds a bit more like a question for the Product Administration forum. I suspect it has something to do with configuration varables, but I know less than nothing about CONNECT workspaces (etc.)

We have found a German wiki for this but there it is suggested to reinstall everything and choose a "central" organization folder etc. - is there a way to set up this structure without de- and reinstallation, maybe when updating to Connect 7?
Thank you Mary. Didn't know there was an Administration forum. I'll post my question there.
Hi Fmandoki
This is a big topic. thus some clarification..
1. Do you have a central workspace for Connect? ie J:\CAD Resources\Bentley_CE\CONNECT
2. Do you have a folder within for your Workspaces?
3. Where are your worksets?
4. Have you created a ConfigurationSetup.cfg that points the clients to the above.?
If yes, then as a CAD manager you can create new workspaces/Worksets and ALL clients will see them.
if no... this is a HUGE topic to explain how to do this.
Ian
Hi Ian,
thanks for answering.
1) no, just standard single user installations on different workstations
2) we have a server drive for all our projects with one root directory for each client, i.e. P:/client1/project1/... P:/client2/project1/... etc.
3) the worksets are located in the respective client folder (with one superseding workspace saved to the client folder, root directory, too)
4) no, didn't know about this, never had the time to think about this before but now one of my colleagues had a closer look at this and tries to streamline our workflow.
So this will really be HUGE unless I reinstall everything? Ah well... *gettingagoodcuppa*
