Is there anything new, formal certification etc. in UK or US since the last update of yours, Marc?

It will depend where you are and what you mean.

I'm aware that in the UK and US there are a number of academic courses, some at Masters level, covering BIM processes which would appear to have some industry value/credibility. In the UK the British Standards Institute (BSI) and Building Research Establishment (BRE) provide courses leading to 'certification'. However as far as I am aware none of these are relative to an agreed national or international certification scheme.

In the UK the government have asked The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to consider how an appropriate national certification process could be developed and implemented.

Professional institutions are probably one of the best sources of guidance regarding the value of any current offerings.
