CEU9 - How do I stop files being linked to a workspace/workset?

CONNECT Edition is designed around WorkSets. If you followed suggestions made in other posts and created a single Workset for your team you would have less work to do fighting against the designed operation of the application.

You can use the MS_CONFIGURATIONOPTS variable to disable the WorkSpace and WorkSet creation options.

I have created a single workspace/workset as suggested but if I use it CE wants to link file to it, which I don;'t want, so back to using No Workspace/workset!! I would note that having created this workspace/workset it has made absolutely no difference to the speed of opening files. Still takes 2 - 3 mins to open an empty file, which makes CE very non-productive.

You will only see the link request for existing files, new files will automatically be part of the WorkSet.

For existing files:

"you can assign a WorkSet to multiple files using batch process:

• In the Work page, select the desired WorkSet and open a file in that WorkSet.
• Create a command file for batch process.
• Add the key-ins FILE ASSOCIATEWORKSET and FILEDESIGN SAVE SETTINGS to the command file.
• Select the files that you want to assign to the WorkSet.
• Run the batch process."
