Admin Ribbon - Extend Functionality

From a purely CAD Admin point of view I love the Admin ribbon, but it really needs to be extended to have any real use. If I have the Admin ribbon open I should not have to go looking for Customize Ribbon and the vba tools elsewhere.

Thanks,

  • The true power with any of these tools Marc, is when they evolve their functionality when opened in different packages. Having the Admin ribbon auto add tabs depending on which program you're in would be a big plus. I don't have CE here at work, but will go through my list tonight when I get home and update.

    Thanks,

  • Checking in Update 10 we now have a Customize Ribbon available that was not there in U9 so it could now be added in the Environment group. Logically I guess VBA would be added into this group.

However we also have the Interfaces tab:

Should Customize buttons go there? Also should the Entry group go to this tab as well?

Or...should there just be an Interface group under the home tab?

To add Ribbon content for different applications (or WorkSpace or WorkSet) create a DGNLIB for that context and add Ribbon content as required, e.g.:

The Customize Group is in (for now) my Personal..dgnlib so only shows up for me.

Note I can delete (for this DGNLIB, so actually delete = hide in this case) the Customize button from the Environment group:

  • It should go in the Interface ribbon really. Good to see it getting some attention, but it needs more work.

'Logically I guess VBA would be added into this group.'

    Yes.
