Hi,
In Microstatoin V8i (SS3), when Mstn crashed, there was an error / crash report dialog that came up. When Mstn Connection (Update 10) crashes, all I get is the Windows crash dialog. How do these crashes get reported to Bentley?

Hi Robert,
Sometimes this kind of crash occurs, but normally you should see the Bentley error reporting dialog which is similar to V8i's.
How often are you seeing this?
Marc
Hi Marc,
I am working on getting Mstn Connect set up with our office standards, so I am not using it very much. I have a vba which is a batch convert (dwg to dgn) and cleanup (delete unnecessary elements, change line styles, etc.). I have seen Mstn Connect crash maybe five times, each with the Windows dialog and not the Bentley Crash Report dialog.
I am still working on figuring out which part of the routine causes the crash. Mstn V8i, using the same routine on the same files works fine. (To elaborate, step one is the conversion from dwg to dgn. I am getting more dwg files that have been created in a new version than Mstn V8i can handle. So I can use the entire vba routine to covert & clean up the files in Mstn Connect and it sometimes crashes, or I can do the convert part in Connect and the cleanup part in V8i without any crashes.)
--Thanks for your help,--Robert
That suggests that there may be something in the cleanup part that is no longer supported/present or has been changed to a new function/feature in CONNECT.
What are the clean-up operations?
This happens occasionally--so it works most of the time. I need to find a failure and see if I can narrow it down. Once I do, I will make sure that I reply to this thread. Sorry about the lack of specifics.
