On configuring a Workspace and Workset for MicroStation CONNECT Edition I got stuck in a hugh number of textstyles, dimstyles, linestyles, named expressions and more, being left-overs from a long history in the customers V8i workspace. There are many dgnlib's in use, but its complete unclear which dgnlib contains what items.
Is there a tool or a way to examine the dgnlibs on their stored content and definitions?
Well the long way is to open each one and see what is live in it.
Well, yes but I preferr the short way.
I was looking at using the explorer. You can create a custom search for say text styles that are from a library but I can't see a way for it to tell you which library. As with most things to do with explorer it's frustratingly just short of being useful.
You're right.
Explorer has a Group panel named "Resources", this panel is off by default. If you use Explorer > Resources with Properties, you should be able to devise what file a thing is in. This may not work for all things though.
One thing to note is Resources is an expensive Group panel and I would turn it off if you are not using it.
