ForumI thought that attaching a csv dgnlib to a file would allow the levels to be controlled by the csv. I have:Exported from dgn to get my csv template,Filled in some test levelsWhen i now attach this csv to my dgn, it attaches and the levels show, but close and open the dgn and the attachment stays but the levels do not appear. This is in a ProjectWise environment. Am i doing something wrong as i thought this isnt a complex set up? Is there a guide to read on here?PS: Once i solve this, it would be good to understand if i can wrote in level filters also to my csv
Can't help with the PW bit but a CSV file is not a DGNLIB. A DGNLIB is a .DGN file with a .dgnlib extension. Normally you would import the CSV into the DGNLIB and new DGN files would see the levels if the DGNLIB file is in your DGBLIB path.
I Understand the csv/dgnlib difference. I was under the impression that i could have project.dgnlib, and the levels with it are driven by project.csv which is attached to it. Any user who then requires project level can go into their design model, attach project.dgnlib and the levels would come through.Have i misunderstood and the CSV can be used for quick edit, but then must be imported into project.dgnlib?
Can't help with ProjectWise I'm afraid.
With Projectwise (PW), it all depends how the workspace is managed. if it is managed via PW then the PW administrator will control it. This means your efforts will be ignored.
if it is un-managed then you can change it.
From within PW, go to a file and properties, then look for the workspace tab. If it is manged it will say so.
OK. Now open MS, go to Workspace and then location the MS_DGNLIBLIST variable. it would be good to see where it is pointing too.
This would be the location where your DGNLIB needs to sit.
ive cropped out my email, but as you can see when i pointed it to my ProjectWise item 'DGNlib_Test-)1.dgnlib', it points to the local c drive address.Im unsure how PW manages this, whether it knows to use the PW copy, or does a copy get managed down by PW therefore the local copy is present and then updated when required.Currently it seems to manage it, but upon testing using it to 'ref' [for a better word] the levels into a Design via Levles Dialog, it does it first time, then upon close/open of Design Model, levels are not there but the attachment of the DGNlib still is.
